At least a month before the moving date, hire a moving company and find the cheapest time of the month to set an appointment.
Take into account the traffic, necessary stops, and detours when you make your plan, so figure out the most efficient and easiest way to get to your new home. Making a list of the things you need to prepare, important reminders, contact information of people who will help you, and other things that come to your mind that will be beneficial to your moving. Set up a map and organize everything by getting an oversized calendar and be sure to mark the empty boxes with the daily tasks you need to prepare. You can visit your convenience or liquor store to see if they can hand you recycle used boxes, and if they do, you can grab a handful to help the environment by saving paper in your moving journey. The best way of transporting your electronics is using its original boxes when you purchased them, so check if you still have the original boxes for your appliances and electronics, or you can also use bubble wrap, quilted blankets, and sturdy tape to protect your tv and other delicate items. You can also purchase important supplies and tools that will help you in your moving such as packing tape, masking tape, double tape, packing paper, cardboard boxes, new industrialized broom, extra screws, packing a paper, putty, and measuring tape.
A week ahead of your moving date, call your electricity, cable, internet and gas providers to figure out when you need to shut everything off. Gather all remotes, cords, or cable boxes you need to return. The trickiest to pack are your decorative items so pack them several weeks before you move. It is very important to update or change your mailing address, registered address and your shipping address for your credit card, bills, and online accounts if you want them all in your new home.
